				<title><![CDATA[Sparking Secondary Success Allows Grade 8 Students to Earn a High School Credit – giving a leg up for the start of secondary school]]></title>

					<description><![CDATA[In the 21/22 school year, Algoma District School Board (ADSB) piloted the Sparking Secondary Success (SSS) initiative at a school site in the district.  Proving to be immensely successful, ADSB continued to offer the course at select schools. Now, Sparking Secondary Success is available to all Grade 8 students and registration is currently open for the 24/25 school year. Since its inception, over 235 ADSB students have taken part in and successfully completed the program, each student earning a Grade 9 credit.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[(Oct 4, 2022) This fall Algoma District School Board (ADSB) has seen a significant increase in the number of Multilingual Learners registered with the Board.  In August and September alone, ADSB welcomed 68 students from 13 countries to 23 of our schools speaking 16 different languages.  Trustees at ADSB’s October 4th Committee of the Whole meeting learned more about the supports that are in place to welcome and register these students into our schools from Megan Turner McMillan (the Board’s K-12 ELL Coordinator) and Linda Kirby (ADSB’s Program System Administrator.)]]></description>

Called 2022 Niibing - Enakamigisyang (Things We Do In Summer), two camps will run this year, one in Serpent River First Nation, the other in Garden River First Nation.
