Intermediate Programs - Our Grade 7-12 Schools
Our Grade 7-12 schools offer programming at both the intermediate (grades 7 & 8) and secondary level (grades 9-12). This model has been designed to give students a gradual, supervised transition into secondary school within a high school setting.
Visit our school websites to learn more about our 7-12 schools.
The Intermediate Program is available to students entering grade 7 and 8 at all three of our Sault Ste. Marie high schools – Korah, Superior Heights and White Pines – and at Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS) in Desbarats and Elliot Lake Secondary School in Elliot Lake.
Highlights….
A grade 7 or 8 class in one of our 7-12 schools provides a range of diverse and engaging learning opportunities, partial rotary timetable, athletics and extra-curricular clubs, programs, and experiences both inside and outside the classroom, providing a seamless transition for students entering grade 9. Each student will receive their own locker, use of a personal laptop for use throughout the school year and access to a school cafeteria. Reach ahead opportunities are available for students in grade 8 to earn grade 9 credits.
The experience…
By providing rich academic experiences in specialized classrooms (ie. theater, science labs, culinary bistros, technology), students become self-aware of their own personal interests, strengths, needs and aspirations and uses this knowledge of themselves to inform their choices of programs in their education and career planning.
