Modernizing Ontario Secondary School Diploma Requirements (May 31, 2024) As announced on May 30, 2024, the Ministry of Education is modernizing Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) requirements to ensure that students have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen pathways and continue to build a skilled workforce that strengthens Ontario’s economy and furthers its global competitive advantage.
ADSB Students & Staff Benefit from Generous Tenaris & CWBWF Funding Tenaris President in Canada Ricardo Prosperi and Joe Saundercook, Manager of Fund & Partnership Development with CWBWF, saw their funding dollars in action as they toured an ADSB Grade 12 manufacturing class in Sault Ste Marie on February 27th. They were joined by ADSB Chair Jennifer Sarlo and other special guests, as they observed equipment in use and spoke with staff and students about how the equipment is impacting their teaching and learning.
Student Trustees for 2023/2024 School Year (September 20, 2023) The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) welcomes three new Student Trustees for the 2023/2024 school year. They are Casey Bouvier from Chapleau High School, Andrew Vair from Superior Heights and Desirae Schell-Migwans from Superior Heights as our Indigenous Student Trustee. All appointments became effective as of August 1, 2023.
Algoma District School Board Welcomes and Supports 300+ Multilingual Language Learners (November 2023) The community is invited to join Superior Heights C&VS on November 30th for the Superior Heights International Festival. The event takes place from 5-8pm at the school. Admission is by donation with proceeds going to The Soup Kitchen. This is the second annual event at Superior Heights and will be an evening to celebrate cultures, diversity and inclusivity through music, dance and food.

ADSB Chair & Vice Chair Selected (Nov 16, 2022) Algoma District School Board (ADSB) held their Inaugural Meeting on November 15, 2022. Jennifer Sarlo was acclaimed and will continue in her role as Chair of the Board while Elaine Johnston was nominated by Trustee Susan Myers and elected as ADSB’s new Vice Chair.
Farewell to Outgoing Trustees Four Algoma District School Board (ADSB) Trustees were recognized at Tuesday night’s Board Meeting for their dedication over the years. Trustees Susan Thayer, Brent Rankin, Sandra Edwards and Sheila Nyman will complete their terms with ADSB as of November 15, 2022 having dedicated their time and expertise to the students and staff of Algoma District School Board.
